Vendor profile
MongoDB Atlas: where is customer data stored and processed?
MongoDB Atlas stores customer content in a European region that the customer chooses, but the exact country is not stated. Customers can choose region, and the provider also has regions outside the EU/EEA that can be opted out of. Headquarters are in the USA, and technical support may be carried out from the USA, Ireland, Canada, Australia, Israel, France, India, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Brazil and Singapore. The data processing agreement has been read but does not state where data is stored. The optional AI feature is processed in the USA via Microsoft Azure OpenAI and Baseten Labs for customers outside the EU/EEA, and query logs from some tools pass through US-based servers with unknown retention.
