Vendor profile
LiveKit: where is customer data stored and processed?
LiveKit stores project data, observability data and recordings either in Frankfurt, Germany, or in the USA, and the customer chooses the region when creating a project; USA is the default. Agents can run in the EU region eu-central (Frankfurt) for the LiveKit Cloud variant, and the company is based in the USA, where personal data including usage data is processed according to its privacy policy. AI inference (STT, LLM, TTS) is limited to EU models by default when agents run in the EU, but this does not apply to direct vendor plugins. Subprocessors listed include DigitalOcean, Google, Oracle, Datadog, AssemblyAI, Deepgram and Microsoft, all with the USA as the stated country.
