Anthropic Claude: where is customer data stored and processed?
Anthropic stores and processes customer content in several countries, and the customer can choose a European region for storage and inference on AWS Bedrock and GCP Vertex, while the European region for Microsoft Foundry is still listed as "Coming soon". Storage in the USA is also documented for customers outside the EU/EEA via Palantir Federal Cloud Service. Sign-in runs through WorkOS in the USA, and Yoti in the United Kingdom is used for identity verification for Claude Free, Pro and Max. Support is provided by Intercom (USA), Nutun (South Africa) and Boldr (Canada), Twilio handles email and SMS, and Sentry handles error logging in the USA. Group companies in several countries have access to customer data, and the data processing agreement does not state where data is stored.
