Vendor profile

Veeam: where is customer data stored and processed?

Veeam is headquartered in Switzerland, but the data-processing agreement states no storage location, so storage country is taken from other sources. Customers can choose region for backup storage, and Veeam Data Cloud documents Germany, France and Sweden as selectable Vault regions, while Ireland, the Netherlands and Italy are listed but not confirmed. Microsoft Azure hosts customer backups and runs the service in the EU, USA and UK, but the USA and UK options are only for customers outside the EU/EEA. Logs and telemetry are hosted on AWS in the UK, Australia and the USA. Perplexity AI in the USA provides AI search, and the Elastic and Splunk analytics sub-processors are also located in the USA.
