Shopify: where is customer data stored and processed?
Shopify stores customer data in Europe, but the country is not stated; new European shops are stored there by default. The customer can not choose region in the material. AI functions are processed in the USA through Groq, and technical environments and compute tasks run in the Netherlands via Nebius B.V. Processing also happens outside Europe through transfers to Canada, the USA and Singapore. The data processing addendum is read but does not state where data is stored. Backup, identity, support and telemetry locations are not stated, and notification providers Mailgun and Twilio are listed in the USA by headquarters only.
