PayPal: where is customer data stored and processed?
PayPal has its head office in Singapore, but the parent company is PayPal Holdings, Inc. in the USA, and according to the documentation customer data is stored mainly in the USA. The data processing agreement has been read, but it does not state where data is stored, and it covers card payment and gateway products, not the PayPal wallet. Customers cannot choose a region based on what is stated. Login and ID verification run through several sub-processors, including in Cyprus, Ireland, the USA and Germany, but this is not confirmed for each service. Mobile app analytics are handled by adjust Inc. in the USA, Germany and the Netherlands, and customer support and notifications have no stated location.
