Mentimeter: where is customer data stored and processed?
Mentimeter stores customer content on AWS in Ireland by default, according to its GDPR statement, and customers can choose region, including regions outside the EU/EEA that can be opted out of. Backup replication is stated to stay within the customer's hosting region, which is assumed to mean Ireland for EU hosting and US-East-1 in the USA for customers outside the EU/EEA. Processing, support and identity locations are not stated, and the notifications provider Knock Labs is in the USA. Analytics and AI sub-processors include ClickHouse, Cloudflare, Vercel and Snowflake (Netherlands), as well as OpenAI Ireland; the data processing agreement was not read and no DPA was found, as Mentimeter says it does not sign a DPA for customer data and sees itself as data controller.
