Grammarly: where is customer data stored and processed?
Grammarly is a product for both private individuals and businesses, provided by Superhuman Platform Inc. in the USA. Customer data is mainly stored with AWS in the USA (US East) for customers outside the EU/EEA, and Superhuman Mail is hosted on Google Cloud Platform with no location stated for all components. The customer cannot choose a region based on what was found. Processing also takes place in Germany, Poland, Ukraine and Canada through internal subsidiaries. Support (Zendesk), notifications (Twilio, Iterable, Dyspatch), logs (Sumo Logic, Fivetran), analytics (Databricks) and generative AI (Anthropic, OpenAI, Azure, Baseten) are documented in the USA. The data processing agreement has been read, but does not state where data is stored.
