Google Cloud: where is customer data stored and processed?
Google Cloud is a business product from Alphabet Inc., headquartered in the USA. The data processing addendum says data may be processed in any country where Google has facilities, with details in its Annex 4. Customers can choose a storage region, including regions outside the EU/EEA that can be left out. Documented support work is carried out from Bulgaria, Romania, Ireland and Poland. Operation of Bare Metal Solution environments is documented in Germany and the Netherlands. Data labelling for AI services is documented in Ireland and Romania, and in Argentina, Canada, India, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico and the Philippines for customers outside the EU/EEA. Sub-processors such as Accenture, Cognizant and Deloitte also appear in the list.
