GitLab: where is customer data stored and processed?
GitLab stores customer content on its own servers and with subprocessors ClickHouse, Google and AWS in the USA, and the service is also run and processed there. Customers can choose AWS region for GitLab Dedicated, but European regions are not named, and the provider also has regions outside EU/EEA that can be avoided. Support is provided from the USA, India (outsourced via IntouchCX and GitLab India), the Netherlands, the UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, Australia and Canada. AI features are processed by OpenAI, Anthropic, Glean, HiddenLayer and Fireworks.ai in the USA, with Fireworks.ai also processing in the EU, and transactional email via Mailgun in the USA and EU.
