Fivetran: where is customer data stored and processed?
Fivetran stores email connector and event data in an EU location when the destination runs in the EU, and normally deletes customer data after 8 hours. Customers can choose an EU region for processing, including Germany (Frankfurt on GCP, Frankfurt, Dublin, Stockholm, Paris and Netherlands on Azure, AWS or GCP), Ireland, Sweden and France. Support is delivered by phData in the USA and India, and subsidiary Fivetran India Private Limited is registered in Bangalore. The data processing agreement is read, but the text is truncated and does not state where data is stored; it relies on DPF and EU SCCs and gives 30 days' notice of sub-processors. Several sub-processors are listed with unknown countries, including AWS, Google and Microsoft hosting, and AI providers Anthropic, Cohere and Baseten.
