DeepL: where is customer data stored and processed?

DeepL SE is headquartered in Germany. Customer content is stored and processed by default on AWS in the EU region, with some services run in its own European data centres; the country within Europe is not stated. Customers outside the EU/EEA can have content stored or processed on AWS in the USA or Japan by default, and can agree on one region. AI features use DeepL's own data centres in Iceland and Sweden for research, model training and free users, and AWS regions including the EU for paid use. Payment data is transferred to Stripe in the USA when needed. Support runs through Zendesk in the USA, and the locations of support staff and data are not stated. Notifications via HubSpot may transfer data to the USA, which is not confirmed.
