Vendor profile

Aiven: where is customer data stored and processed?

Aiven stores and runs customer content in EU/EEA regions when the customer chooses them, through BYOC and UpCloud, with no fixed country given. Backup and operational services are documented in Belgium (Google Cloud, europe-west1) and Sweden (AWS, eu-north-1), and optional AI features are processed in Belgium. The data processing agreement has been read, but it does not state where data is stored, so the storage location comes from other sources or is not found. Login via SSO is not located, and the customer connects its own identity provider via SAML. Support staff across several countries may access metadata without a stated location, and email notifications run through AWS EMEA SARL with processing location not stated.
