Airtable: where is customer data stored and processed?
Airtable is a business product, and its customers are mainly organisations, so this is a business product. Customer content is stored and run in the USA by default, while customers who choose the European region (Enterprise Scale) get storage and processing in Frankfurt, Germany, with backup also in Ireland. Customers can choose region, but the regions outside EU/EEA can be turned off. Login data is stored in the USA regardless of region. Transactional email runs through AWS in the USA, Germany, Ireland and through Mailgun in Belgium, the latter three only for European-storage customers. Support is delivered from the USA, Germany, Honduras, Romania and the Philippines. AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, IBM and others) process customer data in the USA for customers who use Airtable AI.
